Leading Ladies: Jazz Evensong

The Leading Ladies Little-Big Band is a new ensemble in the Vancouver jazz community. Directed by Casey Thomas-Burns, this 10-piece ensemble was originally formed to be a part of the Ladies in Jazz series at Presentation House. All of the women are either current students or alumni of the Capilano University Jazz Studies program. This band brings a new energy to the traditional jazz style, as well as more contemporary compositions. The band has recently performed at the West Coast Big Band Festival, a Swing Dance & Jam hosted by the Women in Jazz Association of BC, and The Maplewood Taphouse.
